Q1. What is the theme of the story deep waters?

Answer: Deep Water teaches its audience that it is not death; rather, everyone is afraid of dying. Otherwise, the fear would overcome us, therefore we must battle it. Past memories can also have a permanent impact on a person's thinking.

Deep Water deals with childhood fear of Douglas. A misadventure at the YMCA pool developed an aversion to water in him and he suffered from hydrophobia. Douglas analyses his fear and finally determines to overcome it.

Deep Water opens the way for all to achieve the impossible. Fighting the problems and difficult circumstances in life can be accomplished by focusing on the aim, remaining steadfast, and making constant efforts. Life's challenges are unavoidable, but we must embrace them and find ways to overcome them so that they do not become obstacles in our lives.

Answer: In the short story "Deep Waters," the author describes how, by sheer effort and perseverance, he conquered his fear of the water and learnt to swim. Since his early years, he had grown to hate the water. William Douglas overcame his phobia by being utterly determined. The moral of this story is that fear of death rather than actual death is what makes us afraid.

Answer: In the short story "Deep Waters," the author describes how he overcame a phobia of the water he had as a child. The moral of the story is that anything is possible in life if you have a strong will and an optimistic outlook. Fear has us all in its clutches. But when fear is vanquished by courage, victory results, and victory has its own allure. Even while it could seem like a protracted and difficult path, it will undoubtedly end in success. As he developed, Douglas was able to become a proficient swimmer. In the end, he felt a sense of accomplishment and victory.
