This year, our teachers informed us that millions of people worldwide suffer from poor vision or even blindness, but many of these issues can actually be prevented or treated if we take action in time.

Established by UNESCO (the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation) in 1999, this day aims to promote linguistic diversity, support endangered languages, and encourage appreciation for the beauty of poetry. The date was chosen to coincide with the beginning of spring in the Northern Hemisphere, symbolising renewal, creativity, and growth. Since its inception, World Poetry Day has evolved into a global celebration, uniting poets, readers, and educators to honour the timeless power of poetic expression.

वसंत विषुव, जिसे अंग्रेजी में Spring Equinox कहा जाता है, वह खगोलीय घटना है जब दिन और रात की अवधि लगभग समान होती है। यह घटना हर साल 20 या 21 मार्च को होती है और वसंत ऋतु की शुरुआत का संकेत देती है।

वसंत विषुव का महत्व

वसंत विषुव का वैज्ञानिक और सांस्कृतिक दोनों ही दृष्टि से महत्वपूर्ण स्थान है। इस दिन सूर्य विषुवत रेखा (Equator) पर सीधा चमकता है, जिससे पृथ्वी के दोनों गोलार्द्धों में दिन और रात बराबर होते हैं। यह समय प्रकृति में बदलाव का प्रतीक है—ठंडी सर्दियाँ समाप्त होती हैं और पृथ्वी नई ऊर्जा से भर जाती है। पेड़-पौधे हरे-भरे होते हैं, फूल खिलते हैं और मौसम खुशहाल हो जाता है।
