Q1. Why do we need to separate different components of a mixture? Give two examples.
Answer: We need to separate the components of a mixture for the following reasons:
- Remove the unwanted impurities.
- Remove the substances that are harmful to our health.
- Obtain pure substances.
- Separate two different, but useful components.
Examples:
- Grain is separated from stalks, while harvesting.
- We filter tea leaves after preparing them.
- Milk or curd is churned to separate the butter.
