Q1: Write the relationship of de-Broglie wavelength λ associated with a particle of mass m in terms of its kinetic energy K.

Answer: Kinetic Energy (K) = p²/2m
    where p = momentum and m = mass.
    ∴ p = √2mK

    ∴ de-Broglie wavelength λ = h/p = h/ √2mK

Q2: Mention one physical process for the release of an electron from the surface of a metal?

Answer: Photoelectric emission.

Q3: Name an experiment which shows the wave nature of the electron. Which phenomenon was observed in this experiment using an electron beam?

Answer: Davisson-German experiment shows the wave nature of the electron. Phenomena of constructive interference were observed in the Davisson-Germer experiment.

Q4: What is Thermionic emission?

Chemistry is that branch of science which deals with the composition, structure and properties of matter. Organic chemistry is predominantly concerned with the reactions that organic molecules undergo. Hydrocarbons are compounds that contain only carbon and hydrogen atoms. Carboxylic acids contain both a carbonyl group (C=O) and a hydroxyl group (–OH) on a terminal carbon. Carboxylic acids, like aldehydes, are terminal functional groups.

THE AGE OF INDUSTRIALISATION
(Questions and Answers)

CLASS 10 : SOCIAL SCIENCE - CHAPTER : THE AGE OF INDUSTRIALISATON (Q and A) (#cbsenotes)(#eduvictors)

Q1: Explain what is meant by proto-industrialisation?

Answer:

1. Proto-industrialisation refers to that phase of industrialization which existed in Britain before the growth of factories using mechanical power.

2. Industries during this phase were run with the help of human labour.

3. The proto-industrialisation system was controlled by the merchants.

4. Goods were produced by a vast number of producers working within their family farms and not in the factories.

Q2: In the proto-industrialisation period, why was it difficult for new merchants to set up business in towns?
OR
Why did the merchants move to the countryside to set up their business?

Answer: It was difficult for merchants to set up their business in towns because:

1. Urban crafts and trade guild associations were powerful in the towns. They restricted the entry of new people into the trade.

2. Rulers granted different guilds the monopoly rights to produce and trade in specific products.

So the new merchants turned to the countryside.

Physics is a study of basic laws of nature and their manifestation in different natural phenomena. Physics is the study of physical world and matter and its motion through space and time, along with related concepts such as energy and force. The class 11 syllabus provides logical sequencing of the ‘Units’ of the subject matter with proper placement of concepts with their linkages for better understanding.

Here follows the class 11 Half Year Physics sample question paper to assess your knowledge.
