One of the greatest inventors of all times, Thomas Alva Edison was born in 1847 in a small town in Ohio, USA. His teachers thought he was a slow learner, so his mother taught him herself, inspiring his interest in Science. In 1869, after moving to New York, he improved a machine called the "ticker". It was used for relaying information about the stock market. Edison invented many things that changed the world.
